Sailor Neptune – Sailor Moon

Project Description

Sailor Neptune marks my sixth senshi uniform I’ve made.  Luckily by now I have pattern down and system.  This one was made all most exactly like my Super Sailor Venus, exception is the skirt is a circle skirt instead of a pleated rectangle.  I had a really hard time finding a color I liked for the bulk of Neptune, so I dyed a bright light blue to the light green you see in many photos.  Since the fabric is a casa satin from Joann’s, I had to use iDye Poly (tutorial on dying Polyester Fabrics coming soon!) to add more green to it.  The body suit is made of a heavy weight spandex and a lighter weight used in the sleeve and hip rolls.  The sleeve and hip rolls are spandex pieces sandwiched with batting.  The skirt is a two circle skirts and is box pleated, finished with just a simple serge and stitch hem.  The glove rolls are stuffed with cotton cording.  Choker is made of the same satin and gold detail is gold vinyl and a acrylic gem.  Tiara is casted by me and finished in gold rub and buff.  Shoes were painted with blue and green shoe spray paint.  Wig is from Epic Cosplay.
