Super Sailor Moon

Character: Super Sailor Moon
Version: Manga Version
Series: Sailor Moon SuperS
When Completed: Feb. 2006
Reason: The manga fuku of Super Sailor Moon is the prettiest fuku I think in the series. The water color effect is so beautiful and I tried my hardest to capture that beauty. Plus this version is rarely done.
Worn to:
Wondercon 2006
JTAF 2006
Yaoi-con 2006
Fanime 2007
Awards:
Best Up-and-Coming Cosplayer @ JTAF 2006

Construction Notes: Body suit was made from a modified ice skater pattern. Skirt of fuku was taked from a ballet patter, bows are my own patterns, collar pattern was from a cheer leaders uniform. Gloves bottoms were bought and then modified to fit me better and the red toppers were made then attached. Lockets are made out of sculpty and plastic jewels. Boots were purchased through Electrique Boutique and then modified. Odango covers were made of styrofoam and glue. Tiara was also made by me and are available for sale in my shop.

Progress Shots:

Locket was made of sculpty and this is is right after baking.

Lockets after being painted with acrylics and spray paint. Jewels were perchased at Micheal's.

Hair wings and chocker. Hair wings are made of pearls and craft foam attched to asilver hair comb. Chocker is yellow satin ribbon with pick heart and velcrow lach.

Tiara made of lightweight craft metal and craft foam. Painted with spray paint.
This item is available for purchase!

My test run of the dye for the skirt and comparing it to my referemce pictures. Dyn-a-flow was used to create the water color effect. It can be found in most craft stores. If you do use this, makes sure you add water as it will not bleed correctly.

More skirt painting samples. Practice makes perfect!

Odango covers. This was them before I had to make them smaller. They are made of styrofoam balls cut in half and then covered with glitter glue. White chraft foam was attached to the back and the whole thing is attached with hairpins.
