Reason: Devil May Cry is one of my favorite series (aside from Soul Calibur XP) and I always wanted to do Dante (since he doesn't get enough love) ^^. However, I felt that I couldn't personally cosplay him and do him justice, so after much conviencing and food bribes, I got my very close friend Stephen to agree to wear the costume for Wondercon 07. I was super happy that he agreed, so I made him his costume free of charge to live out my Dante cosplay fantasy.

Construction Notes: This was my first attempt at many many new things! First first time making something for someone other then myself, making male clothes, working with vinyl and resin casting. I'm surprised that I made this whole thing (along with my Lady) in little over a month. The coat was by far the hardest part of this costume. Trying to sew through many layers of upholstery grade vinyl isn't easy, and in the end the coat weighs nearly 10lbs!! Dang! The pants weren't too much of a pain to make but the material itself is hard to work with. In the end the pants didn't hold up after wearing them all day (they got torn in serval places) and I will hopefully remake them. Gloves and shoes were purchased and were altered. Guns are airsofts, painted to look like Ebony and Ivory. Sword was made the same way as my Sophitia sword and I think it turned out fairly well. Amulet was made with clear casting resin and sculpty.
