Construction notes (Revised 4/25/08): Since this was my first costume, it never looked how I wished it to look. For Cherry Blossom Parade 08 I decided to fix it up and get to how I always wished it to be. The original dress, made of casa satins, remained the same and was only taken a few inches on the sides and darts were added to the top to prevent puckering. The dress was made original using a modified girls ballet pattern. Arm armor and front embellishments were re-made out of craft foam and were embellished a bit to my liking. The belt was also re-made of vinyl and embellished with gold buttons. Original shield was made out of a pizza tray and decorated with paint, sculpty, and craft foam. Look below for how the new shield and sword were made. Boots and sword were purchased and painted white and then gold design was added using puffy paint.. Wig purchased from Coswox.com. The New Sword and Shield: Sword was made of cardboard following Featherweight's tutorial. and a lot of hard work. Shield is a large cake pan with styrofoam, paper mac he, and craft foam details.
