Videos
Sac-Anime Summer 2009, Macross Frontier featuring Ranka Lee (Me) and Sheryl Nome (DaydreamerNessa)
We were the opening exhibition performance for Sac-Anime Masquerade. We decided to sing “What ‘Bout my Star?” from the series. I love this song! Too bad it is hard to hear us.
Fanime 2009, Magic Knights Rayearth featuring Hikaru (Me), Umi (DaydreamerNessa), Fuu (Anti-Ai Chan), Clef (Elber Chan), Zagato (Kasou), Emeraude (Etaru), and Rayearth (Sozokureed)
Coming up with a performance in costumes that limit your movement is hard. We knew dancing was out of the question since most of us couldn’t move our arms past our shoulders. So we opted for a “recap” of the series type performance.
ALA 2009, Team Gurren Dan featuring Cytomander (Ellome), Adiane (Me), Yoko (OwlDepot), Kinon (Eve)and Kittan (Sozokureed)of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
My friend Ellome had this crazy idea of doing Teen Girl Squad with Gurren Lagann characters. If you aren’t familar with Teen Girl Squad head over to Homestarrunner.com and watch some of the hilarious cartoon shorts! Anyways, I did all the voices for this cracked out skit that was done purely just to have a laugh. Seriously we couldn’t stop laughing to ourselves on stage. This was also my first time performing at ALA and I must say it was a great experience!
Sac-Anime Summer 2008, Fashion Show, featuring Zuko, Mai, and Tylee from Avatar: The Last Airbender
Sac-Anime has this great section of programming called the Fashion Show. You to go on stage for a minute and show off your costume and act in character on stage. It’s purpose is to expose people to other animes/mangas/video games. It’s fun and stress free. In this one myself and cosplayers Ellome and Daydreamernessa join me.
Anime Expo 08, Lucky Star Dance, featuring the American Cosplay Paradise cosplayers
Bandai wanted to promote the dubbed release of Lucky Star, and American Cosplay Paradise teamed up with them for the job. Cosplayers from the site were asked to learn the dance and make the costumes to perform the cheer dance from the end of the series at the Bandai booth at AX 08. It was a lot of work, but still great fun and wonderful opportunity. If I ever find a clip of the Saturday performance (which was 100x better then Friday’s) I’ll be sure to post it.
FanimeCon 08, Slayers Mayhem featuring Lina Inverse, Gourry Gabriev, Amelia Wil Tesla Saillune and Naga the White Serpent from Slayers
Fanime is one of my favorite cons to attend and especially to perform at. The competition is always good plus it is good size audience to perform in front of. I knew I wanted to do a Slayers skit since the begging of 2008 and I worked on getting more people to join us. We all decided to do a song/dance skit type skit and I thought it would be funny if we did it to the song “Anything You Can Do” from Annie Get Your Gun. We changed the lyrics, and then used our own voices to re-record it. I was really happy with how the final version of the came out. I also made to large spell props to use on stage and I had placed ElWire on it so they would light up and flash during the skit, however the converter boxes shorted out the day of the masquerade! I was so bummed. At any rate we were able to walk away with Best in Show!! I was through surprised and grateful to win such an award!
WonderCon 08, Pirotess and Deedlit from Record of Lodoss Wars
When we decided to perform in these costumes we knew we wanted to use the opening theme, Kiseki no Umi, seen the anime. We worked together sending videos back an forth to puzzle out our choreography. It was difficult to work on dance skits when you are 300 miles apart. In the end I’m happy with our performance, I think it was a perfect balance between length and performance.
Fanime 07, Eclair From Kiddy Grade
As an individual it is hard to think of a performance to do, and walk-on’s usually never get anything. I was going to wear Eclair from Kiddy Grade, and in the show she uses her lipstick as a whip. I took that idea and designed a ribbon dance to the theme. I have never done anything like this so it was a challenge looking up other ribbon dances. Unfortunately, I had to alter my routine at the last minute due to my costume not letting move certain ways. OMG I was nervous, it was the biggest audience I have ever performed in front of!
Tales of Anime 07 , Featuring Dante (my friend Steve), Sailor V (DayDreamerNessa), Eternal Sailor Moon (WindoftheStars), and Sephiroth (kasou)
We had an interesting group of characters here and we wanted to do a skit that would include all four. In the end we thought of this crazy performance!
Wondercon 07, Lady and Dante from Devil May Cry Walk on
We didn’t have time to think of a skit so we just thought of this walk on. I was scared that we were going to hit each other.
Sac-Anime 07 walk on, Sophitia Alexandra(me) and Princess Serenity (Usagi_Dumpling)
