Construction notes:

This costume is one of those that looks like it would be fairly easy, but then it’s not. I spent almost a week alone making the body suit. By far one of the hardest bodysuits I ever had to construct. To make the pattern I had made a mock up suit, drew all the designs/sections on it and then cut it up and drew my pattern pieces off of it. It took a lot of puzzleing out on how to sew it together to create the flow of lines that Maya has going on. I use spandex for the greys and yellow. The black is matte metallic spandex. To create her texture seen in some sections, I layered mesh over the dark grey. I had to hand baste the netting to the suit so it wouldn’t bunch or pucker when I sewed that section to others. I also ended up handing basting a lot of the suit together before sewing it so the tight curves and corners would come out smooth. To get the black lines I just used a sharpie marker. I did aging with dye and spray paint.

The pants are made of stretch denim and black pleather. No zipper since they are basically leggings.  They were weathered like the body suit, with the use of using grey, black and rust colored matte spray paint.  I would spray it on, let it dry, and then take a green scrubber and scrub it off to get that “Dirty in the fiber” look.  I then went back and used some white acrylic to do high lights for the folds.  Then did another layer of spray paints in some areas.  Finally I went over with a sharpie to add the cell shaded effect.

The shoes are trainers I just modded and painted. Pretty lucky find on finding a pair with the same tread pattern!

The shield is the Flame of the Firehawk shield and was sculpted and casted. Then hand painted and weathered. The center has a piece of mirror in it. The grenade mod, was made from a toy grenade, chopped off the bottom and added PVC pipe. The light up pack (which I want to say is the backpack? IDK they never have clearly stated what it is) is made of foam so it flex with my body and lights up with ELtape. The Nurse class mod is made from a book box I found. I covered it in leather and then painted parts of it to match the design. Everything stays on the belt with clips.

The wig is from Arda and I sewed in extensions in the front so it would be longer.  I then dyed the back and tips of the bangs with sharpie, even though it’s hard to tell in photos.
